Announcement of the Fiscal Year 2024 Commandant of the Marine Corps Combined Awards and Ceremony Event
This MARADMIN announces the Fiscal Year 2024 Commandant of the Marine Corps Combined Awards Program (CAP), which will recognize outstanding Marines in four categories: Recruiter of the Year, Drill Instructor of the Year, Marine Security Guard of the Year, and Marine Combat Instructor of the Year. The in-person awards ceremony will be held in the National Capital Region with details to be published separately, and various commands are responsible for convening selection boards and submitting nomination packages by specified deadlines.

1. This message announces the Fiscal Year 2024<br> (FY24) Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC) Combined Awards Program<br> (CAP).<br> 2. In accordance with the reference, the CMC will recognize<br> recipients in the following four awards categories: Recruiter of the<br> Year, Drill Instructor (DI) of the Year, Marine Security Guard (MSG)<br> of the Year, and Marine Combat Instructor (MCI) of the Year. The<br> in-person FY24 CMC CAP ceremony will be held in the National Capita<br> Region. Date, time, location, and details regarding travel will be<br> published via separate correspondence (SEPCOR).<br> 3. Commanding General (CG) Marine Corps Recruiting Command will<br> convene a selection board for recruiter of the year and runner-up<br> among regular recruiters; Commander, Marine Forces Command will<br> convene a selection board for MSG of the year and runner-up and will<br> coordinate with Commanding Officer, Marine Corps Embassy Security<br> Group (MCESG) to receive nomination packages; CG Training Command<br> will convene a selection board for MCI of the year and runner-up. <br> 3.a. These selection endorsements, along with photo, biography, and<br> professional resume, will be submitted to Training and Education<br> Command (TECOM) no later than (NLT) 1 November 2024 via SEPCOR<br> through an Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2) task<br> utilizing the TECOM SPECIAL BOARDS group. <br> 3.b. This message provides additional guidance for MSG nominations in<br> lieu of changes to reference (a). Nominees for Marine Security Guard<br> of the Year will be any Marine with the 8156 MOS (CONUS or OCONUS),<br> assigned to MCESG for the entire fiscal year. Watchstanders,<br> Detachment Commanders, and Instructor Advisors are eligible.<br> Nomination packages will be submitted from each subordinate unit<br> (MSG Regions, MSAU, and MSG School) to be screened and boarded by the<br> Commanding Officer, MCESG prior to a submission to Commander, Marine<br> Forces Command for final approval. <br> 4. CG TECOM will convene the selection board for the DI of the year<br> nominees on 23 October 2024. DI of the year nomination packages are<br> due to CG TECOM NLT 11 October 2024 via SEPCOR ETMS2 task. CG TECOM<br> will coordinate with <br> CG Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego and CG Marine Corps Recruit<br> Depot, Parris Island to receive DI of the year nomination packages.<br> Each depot will select and submit one DI of the year nominee.<br> 5. CG TECOM will serve as the Office of Primary Responsibility to<br> facilitate the FY24 CMC CAP MARADMIN release, awards, and ceremony.<br> Upon the completion and endorsement of all pertaining boards, board<br> winners and the first runners-up will be announced via results<br> MARADMIN. Additional instructions on award ceremony coordination to<br> include dates, funding, billeting, uniform, and civilian attire will<br> be published within the results MARADMIN announcing winners and<br> runners-up. <br> 6. All commands will prepare and submit a Navy and Marine Corps<br> Commendation medal for their winners and the runner-up via Improved<br> Awards Processing System (iAPS) to TECOM (M30010) for processing<br> NLT 1 November 2024. <br> 7. TECOM will process and forward drafted awards for all winners<br> and first runners-up in each category via iAPS to CMC (MMPB-31) and<br> will prepare meritorious promotion warrants for the winners for the<br> CMC signature, as required.<br> 8. TECOM will coordinate the combined awards ceremony with CMC<br> Protocol office and will promulgate a letter of instruction to<br> adjacent and major subordinate commands to provide additional award<br> ceremony coordinating instructions for the award winners and<br> runners-up.<br> 9.
