Announcement of HQMC Casualty Assistance Conference (Corrected Copy)
This MARADMIN announces the 2005 HQMC Casualty Assistance Conference to be held November 15-17, 2005, at the Gray Research Center in Quantico, Virginia. The conference is intended for MSE level and higher staff with casualty assistance responsibilities and will feature presentations from Department of Defense and Marine Corps casualty assistance agencies, updates on legislation and procedures, and discussions on lessons learned from OIF/OEF. Commands must register attendees by November 1, 2005.

1. THIS MESSAGE ANNOUNCES THE 2005 HQMC CASUALTY ASSISTANCE CONFERENCE TO BE HELD 15-17 NOVEMBER 2005 AT THE GRAY RESEARCH CENTER IN QUANTICO, VA. ATTENDEES OF THIS CONFERENCE SHOULD BE MSE LEVEL AND HIGHER STAFFS THAT HAVE RESPONSIBILITY FOR CASUALTY ASSISTANCE MATTERS AT THEIR RESPECTIVE COMMANDS. THE PURPOSE OF THE CONFERENCE IS TO PROVIDE ATTENDEES WITH AN OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR PRESENTATIONS FROM, AND EXCHANGE IDEAS WITH KEY DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE AND MARINE CORPS CASUALTY ASSISTANCE AGENCIES. REPRESENTATIVES FROM ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS THE VETERANS ADMINISTRATION, THE OFFICE OF SERVICEMEMBERS GROUP LIFE INSURANCE, MILITARY MEDICAL SUPPORT OFFICE, BETHESDA, AND MANY OTHERS WILL BE SPEAKING AT THE CONFERENCE. THERE WILL ALSO BE UPDATES ON LEGISLATION, TECHNOLOGY INITIATIVES, AND THE REWRITE OF MCO P3040.4E (MARINE CORPS CASUALTY PROCEDURES MANUAL), ALONG WITH A FORUM/DISCUSSION ON LESSONS LEARNED FROM OIF/OEF AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT OF THE CASUALTY ASSISTANCE PROCESS. 2. FUNDING FOR ATTENDEES WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THEIR COMMAND. A BLOCK OF 40 ROOMS AT THE CROSSROADS INN IS CURRENTLY BEING HELD UNDER GROUP #416: HQMC CASUALTY CONFERENCE. THE FIRST TWO DAYS OF THE CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD IN THE MAJOR GENERAL MATTHEW C. HORNER AUDITORIUM AT THE GRAY RESEARCH CENTER. THE THIRD DAY WILL BE HELD IN THE GENERAL GERALD C. THOMAS CONFERENCE ROOM (RM 164, 165, 166) ACROSS FROM THE AUDITORIUM. THE GRAY RESEARCH CENTER IS APPROXIMATELY ONE MILE NORTHEAST OF THE CROSSROADS INN. 3. REGISTRATION PACKAGES ARE AVAILABLE TO ATTENDEES IN THE LOBBY OF THE CROSSROADS INN, BETWEEN 1700 AND 2000 HOURS ON 14 NOVEMBER 2005, AND FROM 0700 TO 0800 HOURS ON 15 NOVEMBER 2005.
