DoD Safe Access File Exchange (SAFE) Usage in the Marine Corps

This MARADMIN announces the disestablishment of the U.S. Army AMRDEC SAFE site and directs all Marines to use the new DOD Safe Access File Exchange (SAFE) website at https://safe.apps.mil/ for securely transferring unclassified and sensitive Marine Corps data. The new DOD SAFE site offers improved features including larger file sizes (up to 8GB), extended access periods (7 days), and the ability to transfer up to 25 files at once.

1.  Purpose.  This MARADMIN provides U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research Development and Engineering Center (AMRDEC) SAFE disestablishment information and issues direction on using the new DOD Safe Access File Exchange (SAFE) website.  Cancel ref (A).<br>
2.  Background.  The AMRDEC SAFE site was disabled on 15 Aug 19. A new DOD SAFE site has been established and is online at https:(slash)(slash)safe.apps.mil/.  DOD SAFE improved features include an increase in the allowable file size to eight gigabytes; the ability for users to continue to access files on the SAFE site for up to seven days; the ability to download a file multiple times; and, the ability to transfer up to 25 files at a time.<br>
3.  Actions.  IAW refs (B) through (D), all Marines are authorized to use the DOD SAFE site to securely transfer Marine Corps unclassified and sensitive data, including PII, IAW the site's posted rules for use.<br>
4.  Applicability.  This message is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force and all contractors who support the Marine Corps.<br>
