Announcement of 2611 Cryptologic Cyberspace Analyst Primary Military Occupational Specialty and Instructions for Lateral Move
This MARADMIN announces that MOS 2611 (Cryptologic Cyberspace Analyst) will convert to a Primary MOS for ranks Private through Sergeant effective October 1, 2018. Qualified 26XX Marines in these ranks who have completed the Joint Cyber Analysis Course (JCAC) and were awarded NMOS 2611 prior to October 1, 2018, are encouraged to apply for a voluntary lateral move into PMOS 2611 through the Reenlistment Extension Lateral Move (RELM) process.

1. This MARADMIN is published to clarify the changes to the 2611 Cryptologic Cyberspace Analyst MOS that will take effect 1 October 2018 in accordance with reference (a) and to solicit qualified 26XX Marines to execute a lateral move (LATMOV) option into the PMOS 2611 (Cryptologic Cyberspace Analyst). Marines who meet the prerequisites for the LATMOV, listed in paragraph (2.a) below, are encouraged to apply.<br> 2. PMOS 2611 Cryptologic Cyberspace Analyst. Effective 1 October 2018, 2611 will convert to a PMOS for ranks Private through Sergeant. Marines who hold PMOS 2611 will be assigned PMOS 1711 upon promotion to Staff Sergeant. Marines who hold PMOS 2611 will not be assigned PMOS 2629 at the rank of Staff Sergeant. The 2611 PMOS training pipeline for accession Marines will be the Tactical SIGINT Operators Course, CID F07CVT1, taught at Goodfellow AFB, TX and the Joint Cyber Analysis Course, CID N23CUQ1, taught at Corry Station, FL.<br> 2.a. All 26XX Marines, Private through Sergeant, who have completed JCAC (CID N23CUQ1), and subsequently awarded the NMOS 2611 prior to<br> 1 October 2018 have the opportunity to request a voluntary LATMOV into the PMOS 2611.<br> 3. The administrative process to submit for LATMOV to PMOS 2611 is as follows:<br> 3.a. Applicants interested in the PMOS 2611 should review the FY19 MOS manual for a description of the PMOS 2611 duties.<br> 3.b. Interested applicants shall notify their monitor and their career planner of their intent to apply for LATMOV. <br> 3.c. Applicants with an ECC in FY19 that are recommended and found qualified, IAW ref a, for lateral move into PMOS 2611 will initiate a Reenlistment Extension Lateral Move (RELM) request with their unit career planner to PMOS 2611. Commands should be aware that once a RELM is approved, the applicant will be subject to orders at the discretion of M(and)RA.<br> 3.d. Marines with an ECC in out Fiscal Years who are recommended and found qualified, IAW ref a, for lateral move into PMOS 2611 will initiate a Reenlistment Extension Lateral Move (RELM) request with their unit career planner. Marines who are subsequently approved will be required to obtain 48 months from the date approved. Early reenlistments will not be entertained. If SNM has greater than 24 months worth of extensions on current contract, SNM will be given the maximum amount of months to ensure SNM can meet lateral move requirements.<br> 3.e. Marines who have already submitted a RELM for FY19 who desire to request LATMOVE into PMOS 2611 must work with their career planner to have the RELM administratively closed and resubmit for a lateral move request.<br> 3.f. Requests for lateral move into the PMOS 2611 will be forwarded to Deputy Commandant, Manpower and Reserve Affairs via TFRS. Upon approval, applicant will be designated PMOS 2611 and will then be subject to orders.<br> 4. Release authorized by LtGen M. A. Rocco, Deputy Commandant, Manpower and Reserve Affairs.
