Announcement for the 2024 Department of Defense Chief Information Officer Annual Awards Winners and Honorable Mentions
This MARADMIN announces that three Marine Corps nominees received Honorable Mentions in the 2024 Department of Defense Chief Information Officer Annual Awards Program: Staff Sergeant Dieter Weisner, Mr. Eric L. Gay, and Major Anthony Johnson's Red Lightning Team. The awardees will be recognized at a ceremony on December 3, 2024, at the Pentagon.

1. I am pleased to announce that Staff Sergeant Dieter Weisner (MSOC C, 1st Raider BN), Mr. Eric L. Gay (MCTSSA) and Maj Anthony Johnson's Red Lightning Team (MACG-38/MASS-3) were all Honorably Mentioned for the Fiscal Year 2024 Department of Defense (DoD) Chief Information Officer (CIO) Awards Program which recognized individuals/teams for exceptional achievements towards the goals and objectives of the DoD Defense Messaging System (DMS) and national defense strategy priorities. Such capabilities included: Cybersecurity; Command, Control and Communications (C3); Artificial Intelligence (AI); Software Modernization; Cloud Computing; Data; Cyberspace Workforce; Electronics Records Management; Section SOS/Accessibility to Information and Communication Technology; and Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT). 2. I extend my sincere congratulations to Staff Sergeant Weisner, Mr. Gay and Maj Johnson's Red Lightning Team for their distinguished accomplishments while representing Marine Corps with the utmost professionalism and skill. 3. Staff Sergeant Dieter Weisner, Mr. Eric L Gay, and the members of the Red Lightning Team, will be recognized at the DoD CIO Annual Awards Ceremony on December 3, 2024, at 1300 EST in the Pentagon Auditorium, BH650.
