United States Naval Academy Slating for Fiscal Year 2021 (FY21)

This MARADMIN announces the United States Naval Academy (USNA) officer assignment selection process for Fiscal Year 2021. A selection panel will convene in December 2020 to fill various billet vacancies at USNA in Annapolis, MD and the Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS) in Newport, RI. Interested officers must obtain approval from their Primary MOS monitor and submit applications by November 20, 2020.

1.  The assignment of officers to the United States Naval Academy (USNA) requires high caliber individuals for positions that support the accession of junior officers into the Naval service.  During the month of Dec 2020, a panel comprised of staff from MMOA and USNA will select officers for assignment to billet vacancies during FY21.<br>
2.  Eligibility requirements<br>
2.a.  Time on station (TOS).  Officers who will complete their prescribed tour, on their current set of orders, NLT 30 Sept 2021 are eligible.  If an officer does not meet this requirement, the officer must contact their primary MOS (PMOS) monitor to discuss waiver submission requirements.<br>
2.b.  Grade.  Officers who are promoted, selected, or in zone for the solicited billet openings are eligible to apply.<br>
2.c.  Officers who meet the TOS and grade requirements must also have:<br>
2.c.1.  Excellent military appearance.<br>
2.c.2.  Consistent first class PFT and CFT.<br>
2.c.3.  PMOS credibility with demonstrated military proficiency.<br>
2.c.4.  No adverse material.<br>
2.c.5.  Career timing that supports a full 36 month tour at USNA.<br>
2.c.6.  Recent operational experience.<br>
3.  Application process.<br>
3.a.  Interested officers must first contact their PMOS monitor for approval to screen on the panel for assignment to USNA.<br>
3.b.  Upon receipt of approval to screen by the PMOS monitor, officers are encouraged to visit https:(slash)(slash)www.usna.edu/USMC/index.php to download and submit the USNA staff application.  The approval correspondence from the PMOS monitor is a prerequisite for submission of the application.  If unable to download the application, contact the USNA POC listed below.<br>
3.c.  The deadline for application submission is 20 Nov 2020.<br>
4.  Projected FY21 billet vacancies:<br>
4.a.  USNA, Annapolis, MD.<br>
4.a.1.  8006, LtCol, Battalion Officer; serve in the Brigade of Midshipmen as the senior officer advisor to a midshipmen battalion.  Position requires a post-command LtCol.<br>
4.a.2.  8006, Maj, Staff Director; serve as the Director of the Commandant of Midshipmen's staff.  Intermediate Level School completion preferred.<br>
4.a.3.  Four 8006, Capt, Company Officers; serve as an officer advisor to a midshipmen company.<br>
4.a.4.  0102, Capt, Adjutant; serve as Marine Detachment Administration Officer and Assistant to the Senior Marine Corps Representative.<br>
4.a.5.  8006, Capt-Maj, Candidate Guidance Officer; serve as on staff in the U.S. Naval Academy's Office of Admissions.<br>
4.a.6.  8006, Capt-Maj, Leadership and Ethics Instructor.<br>
4.a.7.  8006, Capt-Maj, Physical Education Instructor; serve as sprint football coach and MCMAP Training Officer while also supporting the physical education mission of the Academy.  Collegiate football playing or coaching experience required; MCMAP Black Belt Instructor qualification preferred.<br>
4.a.8.  8006, Capt-Maj, English Instructor; serve as an English Instructor in the Humanities and Social Sciences Division.  Masters degree in a related subject preferred.<br>
4.a.9.  8006, Capt-Maj, French Instructor; serve as a Language Instructor in the Humanities and Social Sciences Division.  French speaker with an L2+ / R2+ DLPT proficiency and Masters degree in a related subject preferred.<br>
4.a.10.  8006, Capt-Maj, German Instructor; serve as a Language Instructor in the Humanities and Social Sciences Division.  German speaker with an L2+ / R2+ DLPT proficiency and Masters degree in a related subject preferred.<br>
4.a.11.  Two 8006, Capt-Maj, Economics Instructors; serve as an Economics Instructor in the Humanities and Social Sciences Division.  Masters degree in an economics-related field of study required.<br>
4.a.12.  8006, Capt-Maj, Political Science Instructor; serve as a Political Science Instructor in the Humanities and Social Sciences Division.  FAO/RAO experience or Masters degree in a related subject preferred.<br>
4.b.  Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS), Newport, RI.<br>
4.b.1.  8006, Maj, Executive Officer; serve as the Executive Officer of NAPS.<br>
5.  MMOA will release a results MARADMIN after the selection panel concludes.<br>
