Announcement of the Fiscal Year 2024 Air Force Senior Enlisted Academy Course Dates

This MARADMIN announces the Fiscal Year 2024 course dates for the Air Force Senior Enlisted Academy (AFSNCOA) at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, offering five Marine Corps seats per class across five courses. Master sergeants and first sergeants who have completed Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education II are eligible to apply through their respective Marine Corps Force (MARFOR) commands.

1. Situation. Joint-service professional development opportunities for enlisted Marines are limited. However, Marine Corps University, with assistance from the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, has established a long-term relationship with the United States Air Force Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy (AFSNCOA) resulting in a limited number of seats for the Marine Corps. This academy is located at Gunter Annex, Maxwell Air Force Base (AFB), Alabama. The AFSNCOA is an intensive five-week course comprised of the following core areas: Military Professional; Joint Warfighter, Operational Manager, Senior Communicator, and Combined Operations. During the course, students will be required to read, write extensively, and speak publicly.<br>
2.  Mission. The Director, Marine Corps Senior Enlisted Academy (MCSEA) will manage the quotas and coordinate the attendance of qualified Marines to AFSNCOA.<br>

3.A.  Due to limited allocations, each Marine Corps Force (MARFOR) may submit nominations as they are approved by commands. The Marine Corps has five seats per class.  MARFOR G-3 will submit packages.<br>
3.A.1.  Each MARFOR will have one allocation available.<br>

3.A.2.  If a Marine is outside one of the above commands, send nomination to the Deputy Director MCSEA for consideration.<br>
3.B.  Funding is available through Training and Education Command (TECOM) Worldwide Travel. MCSEA will coordinate student funding for the course through TECOM.  The student's parent command is responsible for rental car funding if approved at the unit level.<br>
3.C.  The MARFOR shall nominate Marines in the rank of master sergeant or first sergeant to attend the course.<br>
3.D.  Course Prerequisites. Nominees must have completed the Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education II. Nominated first sergeants and master sergeants must be PME complete for grade reflected in the Marine's record.<br>
4.  Administration and Logistics<br>
4.A.  The following information must be submitted for consideration of attendance at the Air Force Senior Enlisted Academy:<br>
4.A.1.  Course number.<br>
4.A.2.  Last name, first name, middle initial, Electronic Data Interchange Personal Identifier, and Military Occupational Specialty.<br>
4.A.3.  Grade and date of rank.<br>
4.A.4.  MCTFS confirmation of the prerequisites listed in paragraph 3.D.<br>

4.A.6. The Basic Training Record will be submitted to provide additional information.<br>
4.B.  MARFOR G-3s will submit nominees directly to the Director, MCSEA: MCU_seniorenlistedacademy@usmcu.edu, ATTN:  Director.<br>
4.C.  Director, MCSEA will coordinate student registration with AFSNCOA.<br>
4.D.  Lodging. All attendees are required to stay at the Bachelor Enlisted Quarters, Gunter Annex, Maxwell AFB, Alabama.<br>
4.E.  Reporting. All approved students will check in on the respective report date to the lodging office at Gunter Annex, Building 1017, Maxwell AFB, Alabama. Attendees will receive further guidance upon check in.<br>
4.F.  Orders. Parent commands are responsible for proper orders preparation. Indicate orders are reporting orders, government quarters available, and government messing is not available.<br>
4.G.  Uniform requirement. Will be provided via separate correspondence.<br>
