MARADMIN 552/25

Extension to Command Chronology Submission Timeline for General Officer Level Commands

This MARADMIN extends the command chronology submission deadline for General Officer (O-7 and above) level commands from December 31, 2025, to February 13, 2026, for reporting periods ending September 30, 2025. The extension is granted due to the furlough of civilian employees caused by the lapse of federal funding at the end of FY25, which impacted the ability of these commands to complete accurate and timely reports.

Issued: November 17, 2025
1. Purpose. This MARADMIN grants an extension to
the reporting deadline for command chronologies set in reference (a)
for all General Officer (GO) (O-7 and above) commands that cover
reporting periods that ended on 30 Sep 25.
2. Background.
2.a. Many GO-level commands rely on civilian employees
to accurately collect, collate, and report essential data to
submit their command chronologies.
2.b. The lapse of federal funding at the end of FY25 led to a
furlough of many of these civilian employees. This furlough has
impacted the ability of these commands to generate a complete,
accurate command chronology in the timeline specified in
reference (a).
3. Actions.
3.a. The reporting deadline for command chronologies required from
affected commands will be extended to 13 February 2026.
3.b. No additional extensions will be granted for FY25 reports,
regardless of potential future funding lapses.
4. Eligibility Criteria.
4.a. This MARADMIN applies to all commands, both active and reserve,
whose table of organization (T/O) specifies a Commanding General
(O-7) or above.
4.b. This MARADMIN applies to both annual FY 25 reports and semi-
annual reports that cover the second half of FY 25.
5. Ineligibility Criteria.
5.a. This MARADMIN does not apply to O-6 or O-5 level commands.
5.b. Ineligible commands will still adhere to the reporting
deadline set forth in reference (a), 31 December 2025.
5.c. Any ineligible command that relies on furloughed personnel
to complete command chronologies can contact the MARADMIN POC to
request an extension.
