FY24 NROTC Selection Board PNS and XO Results
This MARADMIN announces the results of the FY24 NROTC Selection Board for Professor of Naval Science (PNS) and Executive Officer (XO) positions at various universities. Three officers were selected as PNS, three as XO, with additional alternates identified for both positions. Primary selectees must accept or decline their selection by 10 November 2023.

1. The Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) selection board convened on 10 October 2023 to select officers for duty as Marine Officer Instructors (MOI), Executive Officers (XO), and Professors of Naval Science (PNS) beginning in 2024. 2. The board considered the records of all officers who applied against the requirements of the available universities, individual career progression, competitiveness, preferences of the applicant, and overall needs of the Marine Corps. As an integral component of our officer corps accessions, only those officers who met the standard of best and fully qualified were selected for duty with the NROTC. 3. Selection board results 3.a. Primary selectees 3.a.1. The alternates for MOI will be announced in a separate message at a later date. 4. Coordinating instructions 4.a. Primary selectees. 4.a.1. Acceptance of selection. Primary selectees shall accept or decline via email to their PMOS monitor no later than (NLT) 10 November 2023. 4.b. Alternate selectees. No action is required on the part of officers on the alternate list in paragraph 3.b. In the event that a billet becomes vacant, Manpower Management will fleet-up an officer from the alternate list. PMOS monitors will directly contact any alternate selected as a fleet-up. 4.c. Declinations. Officers who decline assignment to an NROTC billet must submit a declination in writing (AA form) via the first general officer (PNS) or first O6 (XO) in their chain of command addressed to HQMC via MMOA-3 NLT 10 November 2023. Officers who decline will be ineligible for future NROTC billets, unless otherwise approved by the Director, Manpower Management. 5. Each officer assigned to NROTC duty will become part of the university staff. Orders will not be issued until nominations are accepted by the assigned university. 6.
