FY17 NROTC Panel Results

This MARADMIN announces the results of the FY17 NROTC panel that convened on September 15, 2016, to select Marine Officers for assignment to NROTC staff billets. The panel selected 23 officers for Marine Officer Instructor positions and 3 officers for Professor of Naval Science positions at various universities and consortiums across the United States.

1.  The NROTC panel convened on 15 Sep 16 to select Marine Officers for assignment to NROTC staff billets during 2017.  The seven-member panel considered the records of 93 officers for Marine Officer Instructor positions and 9 officers for Professor of Naval Science positions.<br>
2.  Assignment to NROTC staff duty is a voluntary process.  The panel considered the requirements of the universities, career progression, competitiveness, applicants preferences, and needs of the Marine Corps.  Questions regarding selection should be addressed through the primary MOS monitor.<br>

5.  Alternate selections for FY17 NROTC assignment will be posted on the MMOA-3 website on the NROTC homepage in alphabetical order.<br>
6.  Primary selectees are to accept via email to their monitor NLT 10 Nov 16.  All requests to decline selection must be made via naval correspondence with command endorsement.  All requests will be considered in the context of the needs of the Marine Corps for approval or disapproval.  Requests for declination by officers who volunteered and were selected for NROTC duty will not normally receive favorable consideration.  There is no deferral of NROTC/MOI selection.  Any officer intending to decline must call or email his or her monitor prior to submitting the declination request.  A copy of the declination letter will be submitted for inclusion into the officers OMPF.<br>
7.  Officers assigned to NROTC duty will become part of that universitys staff.  Orders will not be released until an officers nomination has been accepted by the university to which assigned.<br>
