1. This MARADMIN summarizes updates to the Defense Readiness Reporting System-Marine Corps (DRRS-MC) made on 21 September 2017.
2. DRRS-MC updates included these improvements:
3. Reports require correlation between Core and Assigned Mission Levels and "YQN" Mission Assessments to validate the report for submission.
3.A. Ref A defines correlation as a Core or Assigned Mission Level of 1 or 2 correlates to a Mission Assessment of "Y" or "Q." A Core or Assigned Mission Level of 3, 4, or 5 correlates to a Mission Assessment of "N". See Table 8-5 of Ref A.
3.B. Action by reporting units: Follow the guidance provided in chapter 8 of Ref A. If an error message appears when units attempt to validate the report, units must review their report and determine if a Mission Assessment should be changed or a Commander's Override is needed.
4. The Netcentric Unit Status Report – Marine Corps (NetUSR-MC) application will provide readiness officers the ability to message other individual users, users associated with particular units, or groups of users via the message center function on the administration page. The Message Center Tab is color coded based on the highest priority message.
5. NetUSR-MC will provide a more detailed report of changes to authoritative data for in-progress reports.
5.A. An improved update message will now appear on in-progress reports when updates to authoritative data sources for personnel, equipment and METs occur.
5.B. Action by reporting units: Units will click the update report button to accept the updates to the in-progress report when the changes do not include a change of mission. For units with an in-progress report that has a mission change they will be prompted to delete and re-create the report.
6. Way Ahead. The September updates to DRRS-MC are part of the large, enduring effort to improve the reliability and utility of USMC readiness data. PPO POR, MARFOR, and MEF readiness sections are prepared and capable of providing additional support. Units and commanders are encouraged to provide additional recommendations to strengthen service policy and improve the accuracy and reliability of readiness reporting.
7. Release authorized by Lieutenant General Brian D. Beaudreault, Deputy Commandant, Plans, Policies and Operations.
