FY19 NROTC Panel Results

This MARADMIN announces the results of the FY19 NROTC panel that selected Marine Officers for assignment to NROTC staff billets as Marine Officer Instructors, Executive Officers, and Professors of Naval Science at various universities. The panel reviewed 131 qualified applicants and made selections for 17 Marine Officer Instructor positions, 3 Executive Officer positions, and 4 Professor of Naval Science positions across universities nationwide.

1.  The FY19 NROTC panel recently convened to select Marine Officers for assignment to NROTC staff billets during 2019. The five-member panel considered the records of 131 qualified applicants for the positions of Marine Officer Instructor, Executive Officer, and Professor of Naval Science positions.<br>
2.  Assignment to NROTC staff duty is a voluntary process. The panel considered the requirements of the universities, career progression, competitiveness, preferences of the applicant, and needs of the Marine Corps. Questions regarding selection should be addressed through the primary MOS monitor.<br>

6.  Primary selectees are to accept via email to their monitor NLT 19 October 2018. All requests to decline selection must be made via naval correspondence with command endorsement. All requests will be considered in the context of the needs of the Marine Corps for approval or disapproval. Requests for declination by officers who volunteered and were selected for NROTC duty will not normally receive favorable consideration. There is no deferral of NROTC/MOI selection. Any officer intending to decline must call or email his or her monitor prior to submitting the declination request. A copy of the declination letter will be submitted for inclusion into the officers OMPF.<br>
7.  Each officer assigned to NROTC duty will become part of the university staff. Orders will not be released until nominations have been accepted by the respective university to which assigned.<br>
