FY17 Report of the Funded Law Education Program (FLEP), Excess Leave Program (ELP) Selection Board Results

This MARADMIN announces the FY17 selection board results for the Funded Law Education Program (FLEP) and Excess Leave Program (ELP). Two officers were selected as primaries and two as alternates for these programs, which allow officers to attend law school while on active duty or excess leave. Selected officers must confirm acceptance by December 4, 2016, and gain admission to an accredited law school by April 1, 2017.

1.  Purpose.  To announce the results of the Funded Law Education Program and Excess Leave Program Selection Board.
2.  Primaries selected to participate in the FLEP and ELP are listed below:

4.  Officers must agree not to tender resignation or request retirement while enrolled in their respective programs.  Officers must further agree to remain on active duty after completion of degree requirements or upon separation from the program for any other reason.  Service obligations incurred are listed below:

5.  Selected officers must contact MMOA-3 via email at smbmanpowerofficerpr(at)usmc.mil to confirm acceptance of this assignment NLT 4 December 2016.  Officers declining acceptance must route their request through the first general officer in their chain of command.
6.  Selections are contingent upon acceptance to an accredited university NLT 1 April 2017.  Fleet up action will be taken if necessary.  All law school acceptance letters need to be scanned and emailed to MMOA-3.  Final law school selection will be made by HQMC.  Report dates and orders will be coordinated through MMOA-3.
7.  Upon reporting to administrative unit, officers will coordinate fitness report and accountability procedures.  Officers will always maintain a full time student status.  If a student anticipates not meeting program requirements, notify this headquarters immediately.
8.  This MARADMIN is not applicable to the Marine Corps Reserve.
