Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) Assistant Marine Officer Instructor (AMOI) and Second Tour Drill Instructor (DI) Immediate Billet Vacancies

This MARADMIN announces immediate billet vacancies for Fiscal Year 2026 Assistant Marine Officer Instructor (AMOI) positions at various universities and second tour Drill Instructor positions at military training commands. The message solicits applications from qualified Staff Sergeants through Master Sergeants who have successfully completed a previous Drill Instructor tour and meet specific eligibility requirements including physical fitness standards and time-on-station requirements.

1.  The purpose of this MARADMIN is to announce the
immediate billet vacancies for the FY26 AMOI program, second tour
Drill Instructors, and to solicit applications from qualified 
Marines.
2.  Headquarters Marine Corps needs immediate volunteers for the
following FY26 vacancies (read in three columns):

3.  Tour length.  All assignments are 36-month tours.
4.  Obligated Service.  Marines must be willing to accept the
required obligated service for prescribed tour length as outlined
in paragraph 3.
5.  Time on Station.  Marines must have 36-months Time On Station 
(TOS) at estimated date of departure, in accordance with reference 
(b).  TOS requirements for Marines requesting assignment in the 
same geographic location do not apply.  Requests for ETP will be 
considered on a case-by-case basis. 
6.  Marines must serve a minimum of 36-months in Primary Military 
Occupational Specialty since last Special Duty Assignment (SDA) tour
or screenable billet at estimated date of departure.  Requests for 
Exception to Policy (ETP) will be considered on a case-by-case 
basis.
7.  Marines must meet height and weight standards.
8.  Pictures of tattoos must be submitted IAW TFRS Message Number:
A66568.
9.  AMOI and second tour Drill Instructors eligibility requirements.
In addition to the eligibility requirements contained in reference 
(a) and paragraphs 3-7, Marines applying for the above mentioned 
billets must meet and comply with the following criteria:
9.a.  Regular active-duty Marines in the grade of Staff Sergeant
through Master Sergeant.
9.b.  Successfully completed a Drill Instructor tour with an
Additional Military Occupational Specialty of 0911.
9.c.  Possess a minimum General Technical score of 100
(AMOI duty only).  Requests for EETP will be considered on a 
case-by-case basis. 
9.d.  Possess a minimum of 250 Physical Fitness Test (PFT) score for
Officer Candidate School or a 215 PFT score for Naval Reserve
Officers Training Corps (NROTC) at time of submission. 
9.e.  Marines must complete the Drill Instructor Duty Checklist 
(NAVMC 11705), provided in appendix E of reference (a).
9.f.  Marines applying for this program must be willing to accept
assignment to any vacancy listed in paragraph 2.
9.g.  Marines selected for AMOI duty will be required to execute 
their Permanent Change of Station moves and report to their 
respective NROTC units no later than 31 March 2026. Upon reporting, 
Marines should expect to augment to Officer Candidate School summer 
training from April 2026 through August 2026.
10.  Marines are authorized to submit for these billets year round. 
The no later than for submission is 31 December 2025, applications 
with attachments must be submitted electronically using the SDA 
request in the Total Force Retention System (TFRS) to CMC (MMEA-25) 
via the normal Reenlistment Extension Lateral Move (RELM) routing 
chain.  Unit Career Counselors have access to the TFRS program.  
RELM enclosures will contain the following:
10.a.  Administrative Action Form listing in order of precedence the 
billets for which applying, dates served on Drill Instructor Duty,
contact information, and any other relevant information that should
be considered.  
10.b.  Drill Instructor Duty Checklist (NAVMC 11705).
10.c.  Gunnery Sergeants must annotate their promotion preference 
(M or F).
11.  This MARADMIN is not applicable to the Marine Corps Reserve.
