Amendment to MARADMIN 574/24 Transport or Shipment Reimbursement of Human Breast Milk Expenses During a Permanent Change of Station

This MARADMIN amends MARADMIN 574/24 to update the list of reimbursable expenses for transporting or shipping human breast milk during a Permanent Change of Station (PCS). The amendment aligns eligible expenses with the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), removing certain items like disposable storage bags, non-durable containers, refrigeration, and packaging materials from the reimbursement list. This applies to all Marine Corps Total Force personnel.

1. Purpose. To amend MARADMIN 574-24 paragraph 3,
by removing "Eligible expenses may include the following: commercial
shipping fees, disposable storage bags or non-durable containers,
cold shipping packages, refrigeration, excess baggage fees, and dry
ice or regular ice" and replacing it with "Expenses may include the
following: commercial shipping fees (packaging and packing material
are not authorized), excess baggage fees, and dry ice or regular
ice" as it is currently written in the Joint Travel Regulations 
(JTR).
2. Future eligible expenses may be authorized only when published
in the JTR. All other provisions within MARADMIN 574/24 remain the
same.
3. This MARADMIN is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force.
