Guidance on the Closing of Executive Department and Agencies on 24 and 26 December
This MARADMIN implements the Presidential Executive Order closing federal executive departments and agencies on December 24 and 26, 2025. Commanders are authorized to grant special liberty from 1630 on December 23 through 0730 on December 29, 2025, for all Marines and civilians, though commanders may require certain personnel to report for duty based on mission requirements.

1. On 18 December 2025, the President of the United States authorized the closure of all executive departments and agencies of the Federal government on 24 and 26 December. The service will execute the guidance provided in reference (a) for all Marines and civilians. In order to comply, commanders are authorized to execute special liberty from 1630 on 23 December to 0730 on 29 December. 2. Commanders and heads of agencies may determine that certain offices and installations of their organizations, or parts thereof, must remain open and that certain members must report for duty on December 24, 2025, or December 26, 2025, or both, for reasons of national security, defense, or other public needs. 3.
