1. Purpose. Effective upon release, this message provides guidance on the assignment of Draw Case Code (DCC) of "LN" to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Marines. 2. Background. To meet established timelines to achieve Initial and Final Operating Capability for the LEON Program in ref (a), a requirement exists to stabilize those Marines who successfully complete required training to obtain the 2339 Marine EOD Diver NMOS IAW ref (b). The time required to identify viable candidates, prepare them for the rigors of the required formal training, and subsequently deploy in support of LEON training and operations dictates the Marines are stabilized for a period of 36 months. Per references (c) and (d), 7th and 9th Engineer Support Battalions have been designated as authorized USMC diving units. 3. Tasks. 3.a. An EOD Marine, assigned to a 2339 billet identification code, who successfully completes the Navy Scuba Diver Course (CID N2003E1), or Basic Underwater Vehicle Operator and Maintainer Course (CID N01710B) shall be assigned a DCC of "LN" by CMC (MMEA). 3.b. An EOD Marine assigned DCC "LN" shall be stabilized and remain assigned to a 2339 BIC for a period of 36 months from the completion date of the Navy Scuba Diver Course or Basic Underwater Vehicle Operator and Maintainer Course (CID N01710B). 4. Requests for exception to this policy shall be routed through the chain of command to MMEA via the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Branch, LPE-2, at the POC listed above. 5. This MARADMIN shall remain in effect until cancelled. 6. Direct all questions related to the MARADMIN POCs. 7. Release authorized by BGen Ryan S. Rideout, Director, Manpower Management Division.
