FY23 NROTC Selection Board MOI Results

This MARADMIN announces the results of the FY23 Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) Selection Board, which convened on October 12, 2022, to select Marine officers for duty as Marine Officer Instructors (MOI), Executive Officers (XO), and Professors of Naval Science (PNS) beginning in 2023. Twenty officers were selected for MOI assignments at various universities across the United States. Selected officers must contact their Primary Military Occupational Specialty (PMOS) monitor within two weeks to acknowledge their selection.

1.  Per ref (a), on 12 October 2022, the FY23 Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) selection board convened to select officers for duty as Marine Officer Instructors (MOI), Executive Officers (XO), and Professors of Naval Science (PNS) beginning in 2023.<br>
2.  The board considered the records of all officers who applied against the requirements of the available universities, individual career progression, competitiveness, preferences of the applicant, and overall needs of the Marine Corps.  As an integral component of our officer corps accessions, only those officers who met the standard of best and fully qualified were selected for duty with the NROTC.<br>

3.b.  MMOA will publish the list of officers selected as alternates via the MMOA-3 "Board Updates and Information" webpage located at https:(slash)(slash)www.manpower.usmc.mil/webcenter/portal/MMOA3_BUI and then selecting the "NROTC Selection Board" link.  The list will be posted alphabetically by full name and PMOS.  No action is required by officers on this list.  If a command becomes vacant due to a declination or other circumstances, an approved alternate will be fleeted up from the prioritized alternate list.<br>
4.  Selected officers are directed to contact their PMOS monitor NLT two weeks following the release of this message to acknowledge their selection.<br>
4.a.  All requests to decline selection must be made via naval correspondence with command endorsement.  Requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.<br>
4.b.  There is no deferral of selection.<br>
4.c.  Once an officer accepts their selection and receives orders, they are subject to ref (b) and (c).<br>
5.  Each officer assigned to NROTC duty will become part of the university staff.  Orders will not be issued until nominations have been accepted by the respective university to which assigned.<br>
