Retention of Records

This MARADMIN provides notification of a DOD data call and additional guidance for the collection and submission of records related to Hurricane Katrina, its resultant flooding, and aftermath. Marine Corps commands previously directed to retain these records must now follow the procedures outlined in MCBUL 5210 for submitting the documents for review.

1. PURPOSE. NOTIFICATION OF DOD DATA CALL AND
PRESERVATION OF RECORDS AS REQUIRED BY REFS A AND B. 
2. BACKGROUND. PER REF A ALL MARINE CORPS COMMANDS WERE NOTIFIED OF
THE REQUIREMENT TO RETAIN RECORDS PERTAINING TO HURRICANE KATRINA,
RESULTANT FLOODING AND AFTERMATH. PARA 5 OF REF A ADVISED THAT
ADDITIONAL GUIDANCE WOULD BE PROVIDED IF THE SUBMISSION OF THESE
DOCUMENTS FOR REVIEW WAS REQUIRED. 
3. REF B PROVIDES ADDITIONAL GUIDANCE AND TASKING FOR THE 
COLLECTION AND SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS PREVIOUSLY HELD. REF B IS
