Higgins, Stoner, and Roebling Awards for Acquisition Innovation and Excellence
This MARADMIN solicits nominations for the Higgins, Stoner, and Roebling Awards, which recognize Marine Corps personnel for superior professional excellence and innovation in acquisition, fielding, and support of systems and equipment. The Higgins Award is for officers, the Stoner Award is for Staff NCOs, and the Roebling Award is for civilian acquisition professionals. Nomination packages must be submitted by January 13, 2020.

1. The purpose of this MARADMIN is to solicit nominations for the subject awards. The reference provides eligibility, criteria, and submission procedures. Each year the Commander, Marine Corps Systems Command and the Marine Corps Association present the Andrew J. Higgins, Eugene M. Stoner, and Donald Roebling Awards for Acquisition Innovation and Excellence. The Higgins Award is presented to a Marine Corps Officer; the Stoner Award is presented to a Marine Corps Staff Noncommissioned Officer (SNCO); and the Roebling Award is presented to a Marine Corps acquisition civilian employee. These awards recognize personnel for their superior professional excellence and/or innovation in the pursuit of acquisition, fielding, and/or support of systems and equipment to the operating forces.<br> 2. Eligibility. Any Marine Corps Officer or SNCO may be nominated by his/her supervisor as long as the Marine has not tendered his/her resignation, has not applied for retirement, or does not EAS before 1 September 2020. Any government civilian acquisition professional currently employed by the Marine Corps may be nominated by his/her supervisor. Previous award recipients are ineligible. Award nominees not selected as recipients in previous years are eligible.<br> 3. Nominations must be in the format outlined in enclosure (2) of the reference. Include the nominating organization's address and his/her point of contact's name, phone number, and e-mail address. Packages must be received NLT 13 January 2020.<br> 4.
