Change 1 to Convening of the FY25 U.S. Marine Corps Colonel, Lieutenant Colonel, Major, and Captain Promotion Selection Boards

1.  This MARADMIN announces changes to the promotion process, convene date, and the junior officer in-zone eligible for promotion to captain.
2.  For promotion to the grade of captain, a promotion selection board will not be convened.  Instead, eligible officers will undergo an All-Fully-Qualified-Officers List (AFQOL) process.  The official military records of all officers eligible for promotion to captain will be screened to identify those officers who are fully qualified for promotion to captain.  Those officers determined not fully qualified for promotion will be omitted from the AFQOL constituting a failure of selection (FOS).  The provisions set forth in the reference MARADMIN are applicable to the AFQOL process, to include reviewing and preparing records for promotion consideration and submission of correspondence.
3.  The FY25 USMC Captain AFQOL process will convene on 6 February 2024 vice 30 January 2024 as previously announced in paragraph 1 of the reference.  Accordingly, the due date to submit correspondence to the President of the FY25 USMC Captain AFQOL process in paragraph 7.a.3. of the reference will now be no later than 2359 Eastern Standard Time on 26 January 2024 vice 19 January 2024.
4.  Paragraph 2.d of reference (a) is changed to read as follows:
