Marine Corps Reserve Policy Board New Board Members for Calendar Year 2023
This MARADMIN announces the new members appointed to the Marine Corps Reserve Policy Board (MCRPB) for Calendar Year 2023-2025. Three primary members will serve three-year terms and three alternate members will serve one-year terms on the board, which meets four times annually to advise the Secretary of the Navy on reserve policy matters.

1. Purpose. To announce new members for the Calendar Year 2023 (CY 2023) through 2025 Marine Corps Reserve Policy Board (MCRPB).
2. Background. The MCRPB is established per reference (a) to consider and make recommendations to the Secretary of the Navy on reserve policy matters. The MCRPB meets four times per year, twice in person, and twice virtually. Members of the MCRPB is composed of highly qualified individuals of the Marine Corps Active and Reserve Components who possess a wide range of experience. The Board consists of 18 primary and three alternate members. Primary members serve a three year term, and alternate members serve a one year term.
3. The Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Manpower and Reserve Affairs) approved the following personnel to serve as primary board members for CY 2023-2025:
a. Lieutenant Colonel Jason C. Smedley, USMCR
b. Captain Marshal T. Andrews, USMCR
c. Gunnery Sergeant Christopher B. Magner, USMCR
4. The Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Manpower and Reserve Affairs) approved the following personnel to serve as alternate board members for CY 2023:
a. Major David. B. Carpenter, USMCR (AR)
b. Major Ismael R. Lopez, USMCR
c. Master Gunnery Sergeant Jason R. Hart, USMCR
5. The MCRPB thanks all applicants who submitted packages for consideration. Applicants not selected are encouraged to apply again for the CY 2024 Board.
