Fiscal Year 2017 (FY17) Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) Career Planner of the Year Award Board Results

This MARADMIN announces the results of the FY17 Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) Career Planner of the Year selection board held on November 7, 2017. Staff Sergeant Joshua E. Deneve was selected as the Active Reserve Career Planner of the Year, with Staff Sergeant Adalberto Diaz as runner-up, and Staff Sergeant Artis R. Aquino selected as Collateral Duty Career Planner of the Year.

1.  This MARADMIN announces the results of the FY17 MARFORRES Career Planner and Collateral Duty Career Planner of the Year selection board.  Per reference (a), MARFORRES established a Reserve Career Planner Retention Offensive to establish award criteria for the Reserve Career Planner and Reserve Collateral Duty Career Planner of the Year for outstanding performance within the Reserve Career Planner ranks.  Reference (b) established an Active Reserve (AR) meritorious promotion allocation for the MARFORRES AR Career Planner of the Year.<br>
2.  On 7 November 2017, Commander, MARFORRES convened an awards board to consider nominations for the FY17 MARFORRES Career Planner and Collateral Duty Career Planner of the Year.  The results of the board are as follows:<br>
    a.  AR Career Planner of the Year:  Staff Sergeant Deneve, Joshua E., 3D Bn, 23D Marines, 4th MarDiv.<br>
    b.  AR Career Planner of the Year Runner up: Staff Sergeant Diaz, Adalberto, CLB 25, 4th MLG.<br>
    c.  Collateral Duty Career Planner of the Year:  Staff Sergeant Artis R. Aquino, 4th Force Recon Bn, 4th MarDiv.<br>
3.  Amplifying guidance regarding the Commandant of the Marine Corps awards ceremony for the AR Career Planner of the Year will be provided via separate correspondence.<br>
4.  Congratulations to those selected and all nominated Career Planners and Collateral Duty Career Planners.  Your outstanding performance in this critical area was commendable, and directly affected the Marines of MARFORRES in a positive and enduring manner.<br>
