Interim Change to MCO 1000.6, Assignment, Classification, and Travel System Manual (ACTSMAN)
This MARADMIN provides an interim change to MCO 1000.6 (ACTSMAN) regarding aeronautically designated personnel who voluntarily terminate their flight status. Effective immediately, such personnel will forfeit their right to wear aviation insignia, though Marine Aircraft Wing commanders or appropriate General/Flag Officers may request deviations for extenuating circumstances on a case-by-case basis.

1. Purpose 1.a. The purpose of this MARADMIN is to provide an immediate update to reference (a) regarding service intent pertaining to the processing of Aeronautically Designated Personnel choosing to Voluntarily Terminate Flight Status. 1.b. This change is not to be viewed as punitive to personnel who utilize the Voluntary Termination process in accordance with reference (a). The purpose is to provide clear policy guidance to aeronautically designated personnel regarding the voluntary termination administrative process and to assist in maintaining a combat-ready and effective crewmember force within Marine Aviation. 2. The following change applies to reference (a), Enclosure (1), Chapter 1 2.a. Add paragraph 11.a.3.(g): "Aeronautically designated personnel who choose to voluntarily terminate their flight status forfeit their right to wear aviation insignia. As such, the Deputy Commandant for Aviation will revoke the aeronautically designated personnel's right to wear aviation insignia. Marine Aircraft Wing commanders or appropriate General/Flag Officer commanders in the aeronautically designated personnel's endorsing chain may request deviations for personnel with extenuating circumstances. The Deputy Commandant for Aviation will consider these requests on a case by case basis." 2.b. This change is not effective retroactively. 3. Release authorized by LtGen M. R.
