Clarification to MARADMIN 654/18

This MARADMIN clarifies the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) standards for Officer Candidates Course 230 (OCC 230) that were announced in MARADMIN 654/18. It specifies the minimum by-event standards for officer candidates to be selected for and inducted into Officer Candidates School (OCS), as well as the graduation requirements, with different standards for male and female candidates.

1.  This Marine Administration Message (MARADMIN) clarifies Officer Candidates Course 230 (OCC 230) induction and graduation Physical Fitness Test (PFT) standards announced in reference (a).  This is a coordinated Training and Education Command and Marine Corps Recruiting Command message.<br>
2.  Officer Entry-Level Physical Standards.  The following are minimal by-event standards for officer candidates to be selected for Officer Candidates School (OCS) and to be inducted into training upon arrival at OCS:<br>
2.a.  Male:<br>
     Event                         Times/Repetitions<br>
     Push-up/Pull-up Hybrid Test   8 pull-ups or 62 push-ups<br>
     Crunches                      70 in 2 minutes or less<br>
     3 mile run                    24 minutes<br>
2.b.  Female:<br>
     Event                         Times/Repetitions<br>
     Push-up/Pull-up Hybrid Test   1 pull-up or 34 push-ups<br>
     Crunches                      70 in 2 minutes or less<br>
     3 mile run                    27 minutes<br>
2.c.  In addition to meeting the above by-event minimums, officer candidates must also score at least a 220 aggregate PFT score to be accepted and inducted into OCS.  For OCC 230, officer candidates can be inducted into OCS if they meet the minimal by-event standards listed above and would have been retained using pre-1 January 2019 standards.<br>
2.d.  To graduate OCS, officer candidates must score at least 235 on the PFT according to the standards published at the time of graduation.  The age group used to score officer candidates on the induction and final fitness tests will correspond to their age at the time of testing.<br>
3.  This MARADMIN is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force.<br>
