Recruiting and Retention Continuum (Talent Management) Summit

This MARADMIN announces the Recruiting and Retention Continuum (Talent Management) Summit, sponsored by the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, to be held 3-7 February 2020 at MCB Quantico, VA. The summit will review and provide recommendations on improving the Marine Corps talent management process, including recruitment, retention, training, performance evaluations, and promotions, in support of the 38th Commandant's Planning Guidance.

1.  This calling message announces the convening of the Recruiting and Retention Continuum (Talent Management) Summit.<br>
2.  The Recruiting and Retention Continuum (Talent Management) Summit will be sponsored by The Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps from 3 - 7 February 2020 aboard MCB Quantico, VA at the John W. Marsh Building.<br>

3.  Background.  The topic of Recruiting and Retention (Talent Management) is aligned to the Commandant's Planning Guidance and supported by the Commandant of the Marine Corps as an area where he desires the Corps' senior enlisted to provide guidance and recommendations.<br>
4.  Purpose.  The purpose of the summit will be to review and make recommendations on improving the talent management process for the Marine Corps.  The focus will be on high quality recruitment, non-EAS attrition, and managing the enlisted force through training (entry-level-military occupational skills), performance evaluations, promotion, and retention.<br>
5.  End State.  To provide a comprehensive assessment of the Talent Management process and to provide guidance and recommendations that support the Commandant's Planning Guidance.<br>
6.  Tasks.  Submit names of attendees via email to the SgtMaj Siaw (see POC above) NLT 10 January 2020.<br>
6.a.  The following units are requested to provide the following:  I MEF- 2 Active Duty Marines (FY19 Meritoriously Promoted NCO and SNCO) II MEF- 2 Active Duty Marines (FY19 Meritoriously Promoted NCO and SNCO) III MEF- 2 Active Duty Marines (1 FTAP NCO, 1 STAP SSgt/GySgt) MFR- 2 Reserve Marines (1 FTAP NCO, 1 STAP SSgt/GySgt)<br>
7.  Administration and Logistics.  This summit will be conducted from 3 - 7 February 2020 at the John W. Marsh Building.  Travel days are 2 February and 8 February 2020.<br>
7.a.  The uniform for this summit is the Woodland MARPAT with sleeves down and business casual attire for civilian attendees.<br>
7.b.  Funding.  Funding is the responsibility of individual commands.<br>
7.c.  A detailed schedule will be provided to Summit members upon submission.<br>
7.d.  Announcements, schedules, and Read-A-Head material will be uploaded to the SMMC Summit SharePoint page.  Access to the SMMC Summit SharePoint page will be approved upon confirmation of attendees.<br>
