Stars and Stripes Award Board Results for FY20 Outreach Awards

This MARADMIN announces the results of the FY20 Stars and Stripes Award Board, recognizing three Marines for distinguished service and technology leadership. The awards will be presented at the Black Engineer of the Year Awards Conference in Washington, DC on 14 February 2020.

1.  The references outline HQMC Opportunity, Diversity, and Inclusion Branch's (MPE) solicitation for the Stars and Stripes distinguished service award and the Modern Day Technology Leader Award nomination.<br>
2.  The Stars and Stripes distinguished service award, recognizes individual Marines who have made significant contributions to their organizations' mission and to the nation through exemplary professional career achievements, technical contributions, educational leadership, and community service and embody the highest degree of personal integrity and ethical conduct.<br>
3. The following personnel have been selected to represent the Marine Corps:<br>
   a. Stars and Stripes Service Military Award<br>
      (1) Lieutenant Colonel Nicholas Pomaro, Executive Officer, Assault Amphibian School Training Command, Camp Pendleton, CA<br>
      (2) Sergeant Major Robin Fortner, Sergeant Major, Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, VA<br>
   b. Modern Day Technology Leader Award<br>
      Major Terry Traylor, Commanding Officer, Fargo Military Entrance Processing Station, Fargo, ND<br>
4.  The Stars and Stripes Service Military Awards will be presented at the Stars and Stripes dinner on 14 February 2020 in Washington, DC. and the Modern Day Technology Leader Award will be presented during the luncheon on 14 February 2020.<br>
5.  Award recipients may attend the Stars and Stripes dinner and the Modern Day Technology Leader award, respectively, funded by HQMC (MPE).  If the recipient is unable to attend the dinner or the luncheon, their award will be mailed to them.  The recipient should contact the HQMC (MPE) POC to receive additional information.<br>
7.  Congratulations to the award recipients and their commands.<br>
