1-5 November 2021 Deputy Commandant for Information, Marine Corps Cyber Games 2021-Capture the Flag Competition Winners

This MARADMIN announces the winners of the 2021 Marine Corps Cyber Games Capture the Flag competition held 1-5 November 2021. The winning team was from 6th Communication Battalion ("Every Marine's a Cyber Threat") with a final score of 3300 points, competing against six other teams from various Marine Corps cyber and communications units.

1.  The Deputy Commandant for Information (DC I) takes pleasure in announcing the winning team of the CY21 Marine Corps Cyber Games.
2.  Background.  From 1-5 November 2021, DC I hosted a remote, Service-wide Capture the Flag competition.  Participation in this event was open to Marines and DoD Civilians from across the Cyber Mission Force and the three Marine Expeditionary Forces.  Teams competed in a simulated contested environment and were given 13 hours over a two day period to attain cyber flags of varying levels of difficulty ranging from Apprentice, Journeyman, and Master. 
2.a.  Seven teams participated in the competition from the following units:  the Marine Corps Cyber Warfare Group (MCCWG) Individual Mobilization Augmentation Detachment, the MCCWG Cyber Protection Team (CPT) 651, the MCCCWG CPT 652, the Marine Corps Cyberspace Operations Group, 6th Communication Battalion, the III Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) Defensive Cyberspace Operations – Internal Defensive Measures Company, and the I MEF Information Group.
2.b.  The winning team was 6th Communication Battalion (Every Marine's a Cyber Threat) with a final score of 3300 points.  The following Marines were members of the winning team: Maj Daniel F Heywood/0202, Maj Robert C McCartney/0602, CWO4 Maranho S Mauricio/0670, 1stSgt Jason R Foust/8999, MSgt Michael A McAllister/1799, GySgt Kiriden Benny/0679, GySgt Adam D Radloff/1391, GySgt Andres Torres/0639, SSgt Sean M Sarich/0369, and SSgt Travis A Nichols/0671. Congratulations to each of you for a job well done.
3.  This MARADMIN is cancelled 31 Oct 2022.
