Announcement of Interim Return to Active Duty Board for Marine Aviators
This MARADMIN announces an Interim Return to Active Duty (RAD) Board specifically for Marine Aviators in the Reserve Component who wish to return to active service. The board will convene on or about 11 May 2020 and is open to officers in grades O2-O4 holding specific aviation PMOSs (7315, 7509, 7518, 7523, 7532, 7556, 7557, 7566). Applications must be submitted by 7 May 2020 and include required medical documentation, security clearance proof, and O-6 endorsement.

1. This MARADMIN announces the Interim Return to Active Duty (RAD) Board. This board is specifically soliciting Marine Aviators within the Reserve Component to apply to return to service in the active component. Eligible officers and those within leadership roles are to review this announcement and the listed references in detail, as information contained within could directly impact eligibility and competitiveness within the boardroom. Commanding officers shall ensure this order is brought to the attention of all officers eligible for consideration under its provisions. In addition, the Commander, Marine Corps Forces Reserve will ensure that eligible officers in the ready reserve are informed of their opportunity to apply for return to active duty as detailed within reference (b).<br> 2. The Interim Return to Active Duty Board will convene on or about 11 May 2020. All officers holding the grade/MOS listed below are eligible to apply (read in two columns):<br> PMOS GRADE OR SEL GRADE<br> 7315 O2, O3, O4<br> 7509 O3, O4<br> 7518 O3, O4<br> 7523 O3, O4<br> 7532 O3, O4<br> 7556 O3, O4<br> 7557 O3, O4<br> 7566 O3<br> 2.a. RAD applicants shall be considered in PMOS fields for which they are already qualified without additional training.<br> 2.b. RAD selectees will serve a minimum of 48 months on active duty, with the start date being the date joined to the AC. Company grade selectees not previously career designated will compete for career designation after obtaining 540 days observed fitness report time from the date they are joined to the AC. Majors selected for RAD will automatically be career designated.<br> 3. Application Criteria<br> 3.a. Applications will be made by AA form or naval letter and addressed to CMC (MMOA-3).<br> 3.b. Per paragraph 3, enclosure (3) of reference (b), applications will include the following:<br> 3.b.1. DD-2807 Report of Medical History.<br> 3.b.2. Proof of eligibility to obtain a secret security clearance. This can be obtained from their unit security manager.<br> 3.b.3. Endorsement by the first O-6 in the applicant's chain of command.<br> 3.c. Applications received that are not submitted in accordance with reference (b) will not be presented to the board for consideration.<br> 4. Coordinating Instructions. All RAD submissions shall be received by MMOA-3 no later than 7 May 2020. Late submissions will not be considered. RAD applicants currently within the Active Reserve Program shall contact Reserve Affairs prior to application submission to confirm eligibility and identify any prohibiting factors.
