Cancellation of the Fiscal Year 2023 (FY23) Selective Retention Bonus (SRB) Program and FY23 Broken Service SRB (BSSRB) Program

This MARADMIN announces the cancellation of the Fiscal Year 2023 Selective Retention Bonus (SRB) Program and FY23 Broken Service SRB Program, effective 31 May 2023. All FY23 reenlistment-eligible Marines are strongly encouraged to submit their SRB requests before the program ends, as the FY24 SRB Program will begin on or about 1 June 2023.

1.  Purpose. All remaining FY23 reenlistment eligible Marines are highly encouraged to secure their Selective Retention Bonus (SRB), references (a) through (c), prior to the ending of the FY23 SRB Program on 31 May 2023.
2.  Background. By policy, reference (e), each year the current fiscal year SRB Program (SRBP) must be canceled prior to the beginning of the next year's retention campaign. This MARADMIN is the 30-day notification for the cancellation of the FY23 SRBP that ends on 31 May 2023. The FY24 SRBP will commence immediately thereafter upon the release of the FY24 SRBP MARADMIN on or about 1 June 2023.
3.  Action.  Commanding Officers will ensure their FY23 reenlistment eligible Marines fully understand SRBs can only be awarded for RELMS that are approved in the Total Force Retention System by 31 May 2023. FY23 Marines in primary military occupational specialties which rate an SRB per references (a) through (c), are highly encouraged to submit a request for reenlistment or lateral move prior to conclusion of the FY23 SRBP to receive an SRB.  All of the other provisions of the references remain in effect.
4.  Marines with an expiration of current contract during FY23 will no longer be eligible for an SRB if approved after 31 May 2023.  
5.  This MARADMIN is not applicable to the Marine Corps Reserve.
