Training Guidance on FY17 MOS Manual Changes for 0369 MOS

This MARADMIN clarifies training requirements for Marines to be awarded the 0369 Infantry Unit Leader Primary Military Occupational Specialty (PMOS). Effective 1 October 2017, completion of the Infantry Unit Leader's Course (IULC) is required for Marines transitioning from feeder MOS fields (0311, 0331, 0341, 0351, 0352, and 0365) to obtain the 0369 MOS, though Marines promoted to Staff Sergeant before this date are encouraged but not required to attend.

1.  This MARADMIN is published to clarify the requirement for Marines to be awarded the 0369 PMOS.  In accordance with the FY17 MOS manual, effective 1 Oct 2017, Completion of the Infantry Unit Leader's Course (IULC) Is required prior to obtaining the 0369 MOS from the feeder MOS' of 0311, 0331, 0341, 0351, 0352, and 0365.<br>
2. Commanders are encouraged to enroll their Marines in IULC As soon as they have been selected for promotion. Failure to complete IULC and obtain assignment of the 0369 PMOS will result in marines becoming ineligible for further promotion And retention.<br>
3. Due to the amount of school seats available each year, Marines promoted to Staff Sergeant prior to 1 October 2017 are encouraged to attend IULC, but are not required to in order obtain the 0369 PMOS.  This MARADMIN is the Authority to award Marines with a date of rank prior to 1 October 2017 the 0369 PMOS.<br>
4. This MARADMIN is applicable to the active component only. PP(and)O, TECOM, and M(and)RA are actively working to Develop an equivalent course to support the reserve Component infantry Marines.<br>
